I am home from an incredible 10 day trip to Israel, and I learned so much of what is truly happening on the ground and with God’s people. I am going to share my thoughts here. Join me!
Day 1- (Nov. 9) Why travel to Israel during a time of war?
Answer: We believe the Jews are the Chosen People of God, and we went to love and bless them.
God created the nation of Israel by making a covenant with Abraham. God said, “I will bless those that bless you and curse those who curse you.” Our group of five men from StoneWater Church went to Israel to stand face to face and side by side with the Jewish people to say, “We love you and we bless you. We mourn with you. We stand with you as you fight against evil. We pray for all the hostages to return home. Thank you for protecting Israel because at the same time, you are protecting America.”
We travel to Israel regularly during times of peace, we must also travel to Israel during a time of war because that’s what family does!
Challenge: What will you do to love, bless and stand with Israel during this time of war? I suggest you go to Israel and see for yourself what God is doing among the Jewish people.
Prayer: God, You alone are the One we trust. May Your right hand guide Israel to destroy evil and restore peace to the land. May Your Messiah bring Good News of hope and heal the broken-hearted. In Jesus name, a-men.
Genesis 12:1-3 (ESV) Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
