OVERVIEW

Practical Theological Seminary is a two-year training program that prepares men and women for ministry. We believe the best way to prepare students for ministry is to combine classroom education with real ministry experience. A big part of our seminary is creating an atmosphere and expectation for God to work in our student’s lives.  We believe God will reveal His unique calling to each of our students during their two-years with us. We invite you on a two-year journey of faith to know the one true God of the Bible and to discover His plans for you.

MINISTRY EXPERIENCE

  • Students are required to serve in ministry while attending seminary.  Students can serve in any area of ministry at their local church, and students are highly encouraged to be the leader of a ministry.  Students do not have to be in a paid position of a church.  The goal is to get practical ministry experience in many different areas of ministry within the church in order to better understand one’s calling and gifts within the Body of Christ.

BELIEFS- A Short Summary

At Practical Theological Seminary, we believe and teach:

1. The Bible is the absolute inspired Word of God.  Because it is God’s Word, it is completely trustworthy and never wrong.  Therefore, with God’s help, we seek to obey His Word.

2.  God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God.

3.  Jesus is the Christ/Messiah, Son of God and co-equal with the Father.  Jesus lived a sinless human life.  Jesus was the perfect sacrifice offered for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead and demonstrated His power over sin and death.  He ascended to heaven and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

4.  The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God.  He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.  He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved.  As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

5.  Salvation is God's free gift, but we must accept it.  A person can only be saved by trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

6.  Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.  Those that trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior enter heaven.  Those that reject Jesus are sentenced to hell.

7.  People are sinful and in need of a savior.  God loves us so much that He took the initiative to send Jesus to save people from their sin.
